We are looking for a motivated, talented individual interested in a manufacturing leadership role with significant growth opportunity to join our organization as a Supply Chain Planning Manager - Wine in Fairfield, CA.

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Unit Supply Chain Lead is responsible for representing end to end supply chain within the business unit. This position will coordinate all Supply Chain activities pertaining to procurement, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, logistics, warehousing, customer service and inventory deployment. This individual will ensure that Supply Chain goals and initiatives are represented in the Business Unit. They will also ensure that BU goals and projects are aligned with the centralized Supply Chain team. This person will help lead the IBP process in the business unit – ensuring appropriate issues are escalated and resolved to meet deadlines. This person will collaborate with key customers to drive Supply Chain initiatives and savings while maximizing service.

They will manage and track progress to KPI’s including; forecast accuracy, OTIF, inventory levels/mix, freight, warehousing, material spend, etc..

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Represent the supply chain in the business unit teams

  • Lead the development of strategies to improve inventory quantities and health for both finished goods and raw materials

  • Ensure reporting cohesiveness between SC and BU requirements

  • Integrate inventory analytics into business unit teams and meeting cadence

  • Collaborate in building capabilities for supply chain network evaluations

  • Prepare and facilitate various monthly IBP meetings. Drive action items within business unit

  • Determine areas of focus for inventory reduction and service improvement

  • Work closely with area directors to ensure the feasibility and execution of production schedules

  • Roll out new technology and tools in alignment with the Supply Chain function to improve performance of the business unit

  • Support centrally defined business processes

  • Oversee BU inventory quality and quantity and meet inventory goals.

  • Support NA cost reduction efforts associated with obsolescence and inventory adjustments.

  • Support NA cost reduction efforts with warehousing and freight spend

  • Work with the commercial and DP teams to Improve forecast accuracy and BIAS.

  • Act as a representative of Supply Chain in key customer collaboration to drive mutually beneficial Supply Chain projects and savings

  • Support TSC (total systems cost) with all projects related to Supply Chain

  • Support key projects and initiatives in procurement, warehousing, logistics within the BU

  • Contribute to financial forecasting of freight, repacks, warehousing, etc..

  • Deliver customer service level goals and work towards the development of world-class processes.

  • Collaborate with the capacity planning team to understand inventory fluctuations

  • Interact very closely with the North America Leadership Team (NALT) and communicate projects and findings in a very clear and concise way

  • Coordinate with Global Supply Chain team to execute import/export projects

SCOPE AND IMPACT

Scope

The Business Unit Supply Chain lead leads a specific business unit team within the North America business.

This person will work inside the category and also integrate across categories to guarantee common processes and systems.

Due to the cross-functional nature of this role, this individual may be involved in projects that affect customer service, IT, finance and manufacturing, etc, as they cross over to supply chain.

The Business Unit Supply Chain Lead will occasionally participate in global integration projects that require North America to integrate with other regions around the globe.

Impact

This manager will be expected to identify opportunities that will allow better management of working capital of both raw material and finished goods inventories.

This manager will be expected to create a step rise function that will increase O-I’s supply chain capabilities.

The manager will touch most of the information systems that the company has today including SAP, APO and many others.

There will be significant contact with sales, customer teams and customers as the improvement initiatives that this team will lead will impact all these entities.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related area required

  • MBA or graduate degree in Operations Research or Supply Chain preferable

  • 5-7 years of experience in supply chain

  • Deep knowledge of supply/demand planning, procurement, and logistics

  • Proven skills leading people and cross-functional organizations

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Experience working in a matrix organization preferred

  • Great communication skills both in written and oral form

  • Working knowledge of ERP, planning and analytics systems

  • Superior Excel skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Good executive presence

  • Great experience in SAP system or similar ERP System

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

(Include a current organization chart; include both old & new org charts for Department re-organizations)

The Business Unit Supply Chain Lead will report to the Business Unit General Manager operationally and the VP Supply Chain functionally

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position will require 25-30% travel. Some international travel might be required.
