Position Description:

We are looking for a motivated, talented individual interested in a manufacturing leadership role with significant growth opportunity to join our organization as Legal Counsel at our global headquarters, Perrysburg, Ohio.

JOB SUMMARY

The Legal Counsel will report directly to the Associate General Counsel and will primarily represent and advise the Company on matters involving litigation, employment law and employee health and safety.

Job responsibilities will include, among other things, assisting the Company in the management of certain litigation matters; advising the Company on its interactions with certain federal and state agencies responsible for regulating the workplace; negotiating and drafting lawsuit settlement agreements; and reviewing, drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements.

The Legal Counsel will support senior attorneys in the legal department and will act as a liaison between outside counsel and the Company’s internal business leaders.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in the management of various litigation matters, including employment disputes, commercial disputes, and product liability claims; manage case budgets, develop case strategy, and assist ondiscovery and related matters.

  • Advise the Company on its interactions with certain federal and state agencies responsible for regulating the workplace, including the EEOC, the DOL, and OSHA.

  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial issues, including disputes with customers and vendors.

  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements.

Position Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • JD from an accredited law school and strong academic record

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the Ohio bar (or able to gain admission to Ohio bar)

  • 2-5 years of law firm or corporate in-house experience

  • Preferred knowledge and experience in the following areas of law: dispute resolution (and its applicable rules and procedures), products liability, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, NLRA, UCC, and commercial real estate, among others

  • Preferred experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements and lawsuit settlements

  • Excellent written/ verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

  • Excellent judgment

  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment
