Position Description:

We are currently seeking a Auto Palletizer & Depalletizer Operator to join our team at our plant in Vernon, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Attends automatic palletizers and depalletizers supplying pallets, tier sheets, operates controls and insures that tiers are properly formed and transported.

  2. Sees that palletizer machines continue to operate and function as designed to do. Involves some button pushing.

  3. Turns off equipment in case of malfunction and notifies supervisor or repairman. Makes make minor adjustments to equipment when necessary.

  4. Unjams palletizer by stopping it, removing affected material, and then restarting palletizer.

  5. Observes cartons and/or bottles for obvious defects and removes.

  6. Manually places tier sheets, top frames as required and occasionally manually handles pallets. When attending de-palletizer, remove frames, load tags, tier sheets.

  7. Removes excess ware from bulk loading area and fills voids on tier loads as required. checks for proper layering or load pattern when palletizing cartoned ware.

  8. Unjams lines to keep the lines flowing.

  9. Removes damaged cases and broken bottles, replaces same to fill out loads properly.

  10. Per instruction by Quality Group, holds bulk loads by writing on "Hold-Do Not Ship" sheet and affixes to pallet load.

  11. Prepares and attaches load tickets.

  12. Checks palletized loads if palletized and strapped properly. Checks integrity of loads.

  13. Checks on steamer to check if operating properly. (Steamer steams flaps of cartons)

  14. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Removes trash and cullet.

  15. Builds load manually, as required during breakdown.

  16. May have to operate transfer car when not operating properly when directed on occasion and not a duty required on this job.

Position Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school Diploma

  • Experience: Previous experience in the industrial environment

  • Ability to make simple operating adjustments

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
