We are currently seeking a Product Handling and Packaging Engineer to join our team at our World Headquarters in Perrysburg, OH.
This position is responsible and accountable for performing engineering, project management and technical support functions involving packaging systems and equipment for domestic glass container manufacturing. Design responsibilities will be primarily focused on the development of specifications, drawings and specification packages and providing installation, start-up and troubleshooting assistance in inspection, packaging and load build areas. As lead engineer for a project or part of engineering team, you will independently plan or by working under the direction of senior engineers and/or team leaders, schedule, conduct and/or coordinate detailed phases of engineering work in part or in total of an assigned project.

Develop design concepts to meet project goals and objectives.
Prepare and review designs, specifications and cost estimates for complex projects.
Develop and prepare tasks, plans and schedule for successful execution of engineering and project on time and budget while achieving established objectives and quality standards.
Provide technical direction for specific tasks and assign work to engineering team.
Provide effective communication and coordination of design with other engineering disciplines and contractors to ensure a comprehensive and complete project.
Perform engineering analysis to evaluate, qualify, select and audit equipment and materials and associated suppliers using company’s standards and specifications, engineering fundamentals and principles, and requirements of governing Codes and Authorities.
Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations.
Knowledge of Codes and Standards and application in design including compliance with prescribed safety principles.
Investigate and apply new technology and innovation in completing work assignments to improve processes and standards.
Lead selection and development of outside integrator and vendors to provide best total cost solutions.
Provide troubleshooting expertise and solutions to plant's operational problems.
Ensure that project specifications and quality standards are achieved using the most efficient and cost-effective means.
Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of employees and people associated with projects and manufacturing stakeholders.
SCOPE AND IMPACT
- Engineering team’s responsibility is for 19 facilities and 90+ production lines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing engineering (or other relevant engineering discipline)
5+years related work experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2015
Knowledge and experience with electrical control systems
Knowledge and experience in managing packaging line projects and multiple discipline teams
Knowledge and experience in leading outside vendors and integrators to successful completion of projects
Experience in construction engineering and management
Knowledge of glass manufacturing process and container handling, preferred

- Ability to travel 40% of time to North America facilities
